Connect with Carolina
On Aug. 21 the city of Columbia will be engulfed in darkness for two minutes and 29 seconds as the moon covers the sun during a total solar eclipse. The university is preparing viewing stations and informational programs to accommodate the campus community and visitors and is in need of event volunteers during the eclipse and its preceding weekend. Interested students can apply to volunteer online.

University Ambassadors serve as the front door of the university, providing a welcoming and informative first impression to a diverse group of visitors. They give prospective students and their families information about student life as a Gamecock through weekly campus tours and open house events throughout the year. Applications for the 2017-18 year are open now through Sept. 1.
