Providing Educational School Gardens on Maui
In this Issue:

Happening In the Gardens
Back to Class
As students return to school this month, we're excited to introduce new a learning curriculum in the garden programs. This curriculum is tied to the State of Hawaii Department of Education learning standards, and contains newly revised and expanded lesson plans. Each lesson includes a learning focus, a variety of lesson activities, and specific learner outcomes. Our goal with the new curriculum is to improve educational impact, increase consistency across all of our garden programs, and ensure the gardens are inspiring (and fun!) for students. We look forward to sharing these lessons in our eNewsletter in future editions.

Want to share the joy of the gardens with your team? We can set up a fun and educational work day just for your group. Garden projects are great for youth organizations like sports teams and service clubs, as well as community groups and businesses. We can always use a hand in the gardens, and it’s a great way to spend time with your team. Please contact volunteer@Growsomegood.org to get involved.

News from our Restaurant Supporters
Happy 1st Birthday to Fork & Salad!

Fork & Salad celebrates its first year of serving the Maui community with fresh, locally sourced, healthy meals. Since opening day, their business model has been in alignment with Grow Some Good's mission: to cultivate healthier communities by strengthening local agriculture and improving access to nutritious, affordable food.

We appreciate Fork & Salad's commitment to our community, and their financial support, as they continue to make a donation to Grow Some Good with each purchase of the popular Beet & Goat Cheese Salad. Mahalo Fork & Salad!

Market Night at DUO
This upscale restaurant in the Four Seasons Resort Maui takes on the feel of a country market on Market Night, a weekly event that honors the tradition of the farmer’s market and wholly embraces the farm-to-table concept. On Friday nights you can enjoy the fresh offerings at the Produce Stand, try a charcuterie board with smoked meats, dried fruits and assorted breads, or order à la carte off the menu. A portion of the proceeds from the Produce Stand salads sold each Market Night benefits Grow Some Good.  Market Night opens at 5:30 p.m., with the last seating at 9 p.m. To make a reservation, call (808) 874-8000.
