Happy Summer!
This month, I'll share some great resources for teaching adult ESL/literacy that you can browse through this summer. Many of these resources are also effective with children and adolescents. The list includes articles, websites, videos, online courses, and more.
Have you heard of LESLLA (Literacy Education and Second Language Learning for Adults/Adolescents)? It's an organization of researchers and practitioners that exists to discover and promote best practices in ESL/literacy education for adults and adolescents with limited or interrupted formal education. Registration is open for their conference August 10-12 in Portland, OR. I attended the LESLLA conference in 2015 and had a wonderful time. See below for more information.
Feel free to forward this newsletter. New subscribers: send me an email and I'll add you to the mailing list. You can find previous newsletters in the archives: http://www.emergentreaders.org/newsletter-archives.html. Remember that you can unsubscribe anytime.
Do you have resources to add to this list? Get in touch and let me know what you're using that others might like to know about.
Enjoy!
