5th Annual GreenBuilt Home Tour

The 5th annual GreenBuilt Home Tour, presented by USGBC-Illinois, is Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23, 2017. The tour showcases sustainable, healthy homes in Northern Illinois. We have TWO homes on the tour this year: West Town GreenStar Retrofit in Chicago and Acorn Glade Passive House in Downers Grove.

The Acorn Glade Passive House is designed to harmonize with its site by taking advantage of the sun, views to mature oak trees, and its quiet setting at the western edge of Downers Grove.

The West Town GreenStar Retrofit is a historic landmarked two-flat in Ukrainian Village that was converted to an efficient, healthy, and modern single-family home, while keeping interior and exterior historic character and details. Special emphasis was put on indoor air quality and indoor-outdoor connections.
We hope to see you there. This 2-day event gives you access to homes not usually open to the public. You can see, first-hand, ways to make your own home healthier and more energy efficient.
