UB Mathletes flex mental muscles in 'Spartan Challenge'

UB's Mathletes used their physical and math skills, "seeing what we could do best in spending the least amount of energy and getting through the fastest" to advance in the NBC-TV obstacle-course contests. The youngest team on the show, members think others may have underestimated these math nerds.

Driverless car is highlight of national conference in Buffalo 

More than 100 transportation leaders from across the U.S. met at the UB-led conference to consider everything from driverless cars to bike sharing to how big-data moves traffic. UB's research helps answer questions on safety, efficiency and sustainability of traffic systems.

Kudos: UB wins one of four TAF awards

SUNY selected four projects for the 2017 Technology Accelerator Fund awards, which are designed to bridge the gap between research funding and commercialization support. UB recipient Sathy Balu-lyer is working to improve the success rate of gene therapy. 


VPRED encourages collaboration through center reviews

The VPRED recently reviewed two interdisciplinary research centers and institutes to ensure they are meeting mission and goals, including collaborative research. The process includes external and internal reviewers interviewing stakeholders.
