IRB STATE TITLES 2017/18

The second state championship event for the 2017/18 season was held on Sunday 25th with Trigg Island hosting the event. With a glorious day in the sun although the wind was chilly saw a small team of 11 members take to the water to represent Trigg Island.
Trigg Island finished 3rd overall and contributed valuable points to the State Championship total.
Congratulations to the Team of Ben Griffin, Lachlan Meldrum and Brayden Dorotich on taking out the Gold Medal in the Open Male IRB Tube Race!

Thank you to all that helped on Sunday - Officials, setting up and packing up the beach, in the kitchen and bar to make the event a success.

Blue Hole Club Update

After 10 Sundays, mostly of glorious weather (except for one unswimmable day) things are progressing well. Challenges have included ensuring that we have adequate water safety mainly because IRBs have been involved in carnivals. We have that problem solved with the final one (IRB States) held at Trigg on 25/6, in wonderful conditions. The other challenge is getting more swimmers, so far averaging only about 2 dozen, not the usual 3 dozen as in previous years. Come on you younger ones, we need you and you need us to hone your skills in winter seas.

It was really great to see our major sponsor Ross Hood who is having a huge battle with the "Bengal lancer", and who has been unable to enter the water so far this year, actually did so last Sunday. Here is a man with a heart as big as a double-decker bus. This year we have also welcomed back the widely travelled George Loverock, not only to see him swimming, but also to enjoy his wife Val's, gourmet soups!

So please come along everyone, we have lots of fun every Sunday and we would love to see you.

Coordinator

Pool Deck Coats Update

Apologies for the delay the turnaround time has been much slower than what we had previously experienced due to the company having had a backlog of orders to process. The ETA I have been given this morning is 2 weeks this includes having the coats embroidered. Thank you for your patience and I will make contact as soon as they are ready to be collected and the balance paid.
