New look

Windber Area Community Kitchen is proud to bring to you a new look to our website www.windberkitchen.org and the opportunity to now send via email a monthly newsletter.  Since 2009 Windber Area Community Kitchen has worked to bring home cooked meals and compassion to those we serve.  We are looking forward to keeping you informed how our programs are growing and how you can be a part of the team helping to end hunger in our communities.  As we grow, we hope that you will grow with us by being a part of our journey.  Our strength and viability comes only through your dedication to serve and exhibit love for others through a simple act of kindness.  We hope you will take the time to surf through our website and subscribe to our monthly newsletter were we will keep you informed in how your support is impacting the lives of so many in need.

WACKPacks backpack program comes to a close for the Summer
Windber Area Community Kitchen has finished out our first full school year. Serving 80 children of the Windber School Districts Elementary School has been a pleasure.  Working with school officials and the many volunteers who joined us throughout the year to pack WACKPacks we are grateful for your service.
Starting during the 2017-2018 School year, Windber Area Community Kitchen will be increasing the number of children served to 90.  We are only able to do this because of the great support from the community.  There are over 200 Children in the Elementary School alone who would qualify for this program.  We hope to be able to provide for all the children in need, but need your support.  We hope you will consider joining us as a volunteer or a donor.

To support this community project we will be having a pig roast on August 6th at the Windber Rec Park Ballroom from 2 pm - 7 pm.  There will be bands like Frequency & The Tom Katz along with the Classic Clowns, Bouncy House, Basket Raffle, 50/50 & Car Cruise In.  Please see flyer below for ticket prices.
Summer Feeding Program set to start June 14th
Kids are out of school for the summer.  The Windber Ministerium, Camp Harmony, Greater Pittsburgh Community Food bank & Windber Kitchen are working together to bring FREE Summer lunches to kids 18 and younger.
