Welcome to the inaugural RRID newsletter. 

The Initiative is growing by leaps and bounds and we are strengthening our connections with various journals and publishers. This means that we are moving closer to our goal of tracking use of all model organisms, antibodies, cell lines and other tools in the scientific literature.

Cell Press Moved More Journals to STAR*Methods

As of June, Cell Press has moved seven additional titles to require that authors use the STAR*Methods format, which include RRIDs:

• We have discussed the case for organisms with editors
• Editorial staff are working on improving compliance with organism identifiers
• Look for better identification starting in the July/Aug issues

We look forward to much more data in the coming months.
