Team Spotlight: Leiser Family

Loren, Nichole, Rian, and Bri (The Leiser Family!)
“This summer is the 7th year we have done a family summer community project. After moving to Frisco 2 years ago, we knew we wanted to continue our tradition here. We participated in the citywide Frisco clean & got information about Adopt-A-Street where Julianah at Environmental Services guided & helped find the perfect street for us! Bri has served her school from homeless teen necessity drives as Student Council President to Texas Tech student ambassador and Rian followed her footsteps from school supply drives to building Little Free Libraries. Frisco offers so many opportunities that make volunteering accessible & fun, like Teens 4 Green which Rian just joined. They both experienced the personal rewards that come from contributing and as a family, we are stronger knowing we help make a difference.”

Litter Prevention

As much as our teams do to cleanup the litter, the best approach is for litter to be prevented in the first place! The largest portion of litter is single-use plastics. Take the pledge (and encourage your friends) to refuse single-use plastics!

Getting Started
  • Bring Your Own: bags, to-go containers, cups/mugs, and cutlery.
  • Buy less packaged (or packaging-free): shopping in the bulk bins or at farmer's markets make this easy!
  • Refuse single-use plastics: straws and plastic cutlery cannot be recycled. Glass, stainless steel, or bamboo are safe and reusable, eco-friendly alternatives!
  • Stay awhile: if you don't have to-go cups, plates, or cutlery - take a few extra minutes to enjoy your food or beverages on site!
