Greetings Spinners,

Here's a report from Craig on last Tuesday's ride:

Four riders(Fred, Joel, Derek and Craig) met for the Tues. night ride.  After looking at 3 phones for the latest weather forecast it was decided we would proceed on a 27 mile ride in a south western direction.  Had a few light sprinkles in the first 3 miles but that was all.  It proved to be a good choice to leave the parking lot on a night the weather was in question.  Kudos to Derek who had a break out ride tonight.  Way to go Derek.

Weather looks a little better for this coming Tuesday.

This past Saturday several Spinners rode to New Glarus as a part of a "training ride" for Team CCC who will be doing the MS 150 Ride the weekend of August 5/6. There were 5 of us. The 1st person who can identify the 5 Spinners from the photo below will get a special prize at the Autumn Spinner Gathering.
As you can see there were over 30 cyclists who had a great ride on a beautiful summer day...BTW, there was a little Spotted Cow beverage that was consumed afterward for hydration purposes.

Shown below is an article that appeared in the BDN recently about the Bike/Ped Study that is currently being conducted by our local Municipal Planning Organization also known as SLATS. Several Spinners are on this committee and will be lobbyists for various Bike/Ped issues but anybody can weigh in on the survey that is accessible per info below:

You are highly encouraged to complete the survey and express your thoughts on how to improve the bike/ped system in the Stateline area. Keep in mind that our local MPO (Municipal Planning Organization) encompasses not only Southern Wisconsin but also Northern Illinois excluding Rockford.

From Jeff Johnson:

The next Spinner "Night Ride" will be Wednesday, July 26th at 7:30 PM.  Meet in the parking lot behind Beloit Bicycle Company.  This 2 hour slow ride will circumnavigate the east and west sides of Beloit for 22 miles of lighted fun.  Wear high visibility clothing and bring headlamp and  blinkies.  Leave the sunglasses and sunscreen at home.  Embrace the darkness!

Cheers

LiteSpeed Rick
