What's happening around the Club!

While it is often hard to stay motivated during the winter months, getting up on those cold mornings, members of the Shepparton Tri Club have remained very active during June. Many members taking on Cairns IM (in much warmer conditions than here) and we kicked off our Winter Duathlon Series.
Congratulations for all of you that keep getting up in the cold mornings and trainings and to those that came out to participate in, volunteer and support Race 1. See many more of you for Race 2.

We wish STC committee members Sharon Andronaco and Jason Shields all the best for safe travels and racing as they prepare to tackle Roth on Sunday. Good Luck. . May you race well and enjoy the drink at the end!

STC GIVES BACK TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Following the AGM held in May, the members unanimously voted in favour of two large donations to go towards helping out some worthy local community groups. The club is pleased to announce that these donations, $10,000 for the Search & Rescue and $20,000 for the Emergency Department at GV Health will be put to good use.

The Search and Rescue are in great need of upgrading there boats due to changes in regulations for watercraft. This donation will allow the group to purchase/replace one new boat.

The Emergency Department at GV Health are purchasing two new crash carts equipment which will be used to provide greater care to our local community.

There will be formal presentations of cheques to these community groups in the near future. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for details.

5 TRAINER WORKOUTS FOR WINTER
The indoor trainer is a dreaded but necessary part of many cyclist’s training program. While there are times in the season that an alternative activity—running, hiking or skiing—can fit well into a plan, sometimes there is a need to get on the trainer and complete a session. Read more.
