Small Charities Guide to Preventing Fraud

Charity Finance Group (CFG) has launched a guide to help small charities counter fraud. The guide looks at measures that charities can put into place to help them stop fraud. As the upcoming changes to the General Data Protection Regulation loom large, it is now just as important for smaller organisations to reassess their work on preventing fraud. CFG has also produced a Small Charities Guide to Preventing Fraud and The Charities Counter Fraud Checklist. This checklist is designed to help charities to establish (or strengthen) their counter-fraud policy. The checklist asks ten essential questions that all charities should be thinking about when working to tackle fraud. 

Evaluation Support Scotland (ESS) has recently published several new resources:

• For those interested in ‘good reporting practice’, ESS has published the story behind Harmonising Reporting, taking stock of where we are since the Scotland Funders’ Forum report came out in 2010. 
• 'Collaborating for change – how do you measure success?' and other new blogs. 
• 'Charting the waters' - A guide for the third sector on how to evaluate policy influencing work'.

Data Protection Changes

The Scottish Fundraising Standards Panel oversees enhanced self-regulation of fundraising in Scotland, and is responsible for fundraising standards in Scotland and the handling of fundraising complaints related to Scottish registered charities. The Panel has launched ‘Good Fundraising’ its new website.
