SID welcomes Dr. Lahcen Haddad as its New Vice President

The SID Secretariat is pleased to announce that Dr. Lahcen Haddad has been elected Vice President of the SID International Governing Council.
 
Lahcen Haddad (Morocco) is a World Bank expert in human and social development. He is Professor with the Toulouse Business School in Casablanca and an affiliated writer/contributor with Harvard Business Review and Entrepreneur.

He is also member of the World Bank and IMF Parliamentary Network Governing Board. He was previously Minister of Tourism with the Government of Morocco between 2012 and 2016. During his term as Minister, he oversaw the shift of Morocco towards becoming a leading destination in the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East and a reference country with regards to sustainable tourism.

Prior to joining the Government in 2012, he worked for USAID and other donors as an international expert in Strategic Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Entrepreneurship and Policy Change. 

Lahcen has taught as a university professor for over twenty years at various institutions including Indiana University, Saint Thomas Aquinas College in New York, the School of International Training in Vermont, Mohamed V University in Rabat and Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. Lahcen also served as Morocco Country Director and as Chief of Party for Management Systems International for various development projects in education, vocational training and enterprise support. He also served as Academic Director for the Morocco Program at the World Learning School of International Training and area thought leader for the Academic Directors community.

He is widely published in English, Arabic, French and Spanish and has written on politics, social sciences, geo-strategy, development, communication and management as well as topics of general interest.
