Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA) Releases Statement Following Grenfell Tower Fire
Following the tragic fire of Grenfell Tower in West London, the RIBA called for the immediate commencement of the delayed formal review of Building Regulations Approved Document B; a review recommended by the Coroner after the inquest into the deaths resulting from the 2009 fire at Lakanal House.
Network Rail Reveal that London Bridge Rail Upgrade Has Delivered a Substantial Boost in Biodiversity
The construction of the Bermondsey Dive Under will allow designated lines for Southeastern trains to Kent and Southern trains to Sussex to ‘dive under’ new Thameslink lines from January 2018. The construction has increased biodiversity in Bermondsey by 113%, after wildflower planting and green walls were installed to offset vegetation lost in the process of removing the contaminated soils.
Report States That We Only Have Three More Years to Ward Off Climate Change
2020 could be a decisive year. A new report suggests that if we don't limit carbon emissions by that date, we won't meet the goals of the 2015 Paris Agreement.
Pollution May Be Restricting Us In How Much Solar Energy We Can Produce
Scientists from Duke University have found that pollution accumulation is impacting solar energy output. Measurements have been made on certain solar panels when dirty from pollution. When cleaned after several weeks, researchers found a 50% boost in efficiency.
