Our SALKEHATCHIE TEAM departs early tomorrow, July 8 for their big week of construction work in rural SC. They'll work hard to upgrade dilapidated and substandard housing through a cooperative effort that includes the residents helping to “help themselves.”
What a blessing to have this hard-working group of people serve in this way!

WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA ANNUAL CONFERENCE UPDATE
Kylee Rose Frye served as our delegate to the Western North Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. At the conference, Stacey Reavis Lundy, Pastor Sonny & Sharon's daughter, was honored in a commissioning ceremony. Russ Pierce, Executive Director for Mission Engagement and Director of The Advance, with the Board of Global Ministries, recognized the Western North Carolina Conference for its leadership in the Southeastern Jurisdiction. Our conference is first in giving to US-based projects to the Advance giving over $488,000 dollars. Our conference is also first in the jurisdiction for giving to UMCOR with $820,000 dollars, and that is second in the entire denomination. When it comes to helping others, we're doing a lot of good work! Several petitions were approved at conference and many mission programs recognized. CARE TEAM MEETING is Wednesday, July 12, 4pm at Altanta Bread Company. If you are aware of any care needs in our congregation, please contact Barbara Lewis, Anita or Cassie.
 
THURSDAY SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM
The Summer Lunch Program located at Glory Tabernacle is going well! We continue to serve ONE day per week on Thursdays from 12:15-1:30pm through week of Aug. 17.

MOVIES AND MORE: Sunday, July 30 at 2:30pm. We’ll go to Mars Hill to see the SART fundraiser, “Hard Travelin’ with Woody,” a one-man, one-act play. Anita will need to reserve tickets for us, so please let her know if you want to go. If traveling together is helpful, we will work on going together. The performance is free, so everyone can give as he or she can to help the SART ministry continue. You can make your donation ahead through their gofundme page, located at https://www.sartplays.com/, or bring a check made out to SART.

PASTORAL CARE NEEDS
Unfortunately, life just keeps delivering blows to us. While Pastor Sonny is on Sabbatical, Anita Sayles is handling pastoral care needs for those of us facing surgery, grieving death, coping with news we didn’t want, or feeling overwhelmed by the continuous loads of daily living. Please let Cassie or Anita know if you would like a visit or a call. We are all on this journey together, so let’s be sure we travel it together. (Anita can perform weddings, blessings, or dedications, too!)

BILTMOREUMC'S PRAYER TEAM assembles every Tuesday at noon to pray for the needs of our church and our community. We meet in the Prayer Room upstairs (right beside the elevator on Level 3), and we end by 12:30pm.
NOTE: While praying this week, remember to lift up Pastor Sonny and Sharon, as well as, all our volunteers and staff who are taking on extra duties. Thanks to Rev. Patrick for preaching each Sunday.
