HEALTH FUND CLAIMS
We will no longer be lodging your health fund claim at our clinic via HiCaps from the end of this month. We have taken the decision to stop doing the health fund's work, because of the impact on staff's time and bigger issues.
Different funds have different requirements. Many of you will have observed this on visits to the clinic. It will also relieve the pressure of being asked to bill items for patients who are not current. For most funds you simply photograph your receipt and send via your mobile phone direct to your fund, who usually reimburse you within a few days.
We apologise if you view this as an inconvenience to you. It is/has certainly been an inconvenience to all clinics who were pushed into doing the funds work for them. We can now concentrate more on clinical care.
Bronwyn has also taken this decision due to the intrusion of "big funds" into health care, via preferred provider agreements and the like. We were recently subjected to a BUPA audit - which we passed and it has highlighted the issues of funds auditing practitioners to see if they fit the "typical" profile. Here, as you know, we do not. Our neuro muscular orthotics are much cheaper than typical Podiatry orthotic billings!
