Its been a great summer so far and I'm sure the excellent weather will have brought out the best in you in as an organisation and all your wonderful volunteers. So, now it's time to think of submitting your nominations for this years Voluntary Sector Awards. We appreciate it's only July but this year the awards are scheduled for early October so we will need nominations in earlier than usual; we will let you know a definite date nearer to the time. We are delighted to have two new sponsors on board, Spencer's Solicitors and Woodhead Construction but If you know of any organisation or company who would like to sponsor an award please let us know, there are still a couple available. To nominate please click here>>
We welcome them back via email, by post or by hand

The introduction of The Quality Mark has been a tremendous success with organisations keen to take this up. We have been really encouraged by the positive feedback from organisations that have gained the accreditation; you can read some of the comments below.
  • "This is fab for us now to be able to use the Volunteering Quality Mark logo.  I will now post on our Facebook page, and put details on our website about the Quality Mark."
  • "Thank you for sending us the Quality Mark logo. We are going to add this to our volunteer application form and role descriptions."
  • "The certificate has arrived today!"
  • "Oh my that is Fantastic news .Thank you."
So far 19 organisations have filled out the online form and 14 have already received their certificates. This means we have just 6 free accreditations left so if you want to take advantage of this you need to fill out the online form as soon as possible. Click here for the online form>> After that we will be forced to make a small charge for the accreditation as follows: Organisations with an income under £25,000 - £25; Organisations with an income up to £99,999 - £50; and organisations with income over £100,000 - £75

So this could be start of something big and it might worth making the most of the this excellent and easily accessible Quality Mark.
