no time to dilly dally

I will teach you the  Butterfly Dance

Your story, your body, the national saga are deeply intertwined--the histories, the memories, the cultural mind-sets, the mind control.  I will share a template for having a direct experience with your body's inherent poetry, your voice in motion and your movement images free of words.

The Butterfly Dance is a meaningful, efficient process to bring thoughts, feelings, and imagination into being, through focus and physical connection to self, landscape, others. You may have a text or score or story or nothing pre-determined in mind.  The form arises from the SO&SO methods and a desire to address these times through art.

Studio Party + Rush Hour/Dance Performance

Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre Northwest Performance in conjunction with the

Opening of 32 new art spaces at NW Marine Ironworks Studio complex, developed by visionary, Ken Unkeles:
"For almost 70 years, the Works was dominated by Heavy Industry.  From World War 2 to the mid 1980s, NWM built parts for ships, dams, bridges, and logging camps all over the world.  From 1992 to 2017 Shellcore, Die Tech Industries, and the Portland Zoo made parts for foundries, manufacturers and holiday amusements. That’s the past. Today, after two years of construction, phase two of a four-phase build out is complete, and thirty two new artist studios have joined the twenty studios originally installed in 1992. Eventually, there will be more than 75 studios in the complex. (God willing, and the City of Portland cooperating.)"

My studio is #345 (thank you Ken). I share the studio with Drew Laugher, who will be showing his visual art.  The studio is set up for performance. Maybe you have a car story.   John Banyas, my dad, a car dealer, sold Buicks, Opals, Ramblers, Cadillacs, Pontiacs, Toyotas,  took many things in on trade--boat, cow, diamond ring, and his own tombstone, may he rest in peace.
Maybe you want to try the Butterfly Dance...(and tell a story at the same time!)

Wander on in and enjoy the party!
