It is an exciting time for diabetes care in North West London with the 8 Clinical Commissioning Groups coming together to improve diabetes care.

Harrow Clinical Commissioning Group has worked on a strategy looking at how to deliver the best care for local people with diabetes and to prevent type 2 diabetes.  The new Harrow Diabetes Implementation group will meet for the first time on 22nd June and will meet regularly after this to ensure this strategy is implemented.  The group will be made up of commissioners, healthcare professionals, public health representatives, voluntary sector representatives and people with diabetes.

Do you have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, or care for someone who lives with the condition? Would you like to be a patient representative on this group? You do not need to be able to make the first meeting, which is very soon. Not done anything like this before?  Don’t let that put you off! You will receive a briefing and support from the Clinical Commissioning group and Diabetes UK.

Where possible we will also offer other opportunities to get involved with diabetes care improvement and support locally.

If you are interested please contact Rachael Glover at Diabetes UK on rachael.glover@diabetes.org.uk.
