Sartorial Smiles To You, Superstar!

This vest got me thinking. We know an authentic smile can be infectious. But, when you can't see my whites of pearliness, how else can I share the shine with those around me? Can a fun-lovin' attitude be infectious?

I suppose stitching smiles into my sweaters could work. But the more obvious way is behavioral.

Because how you act not only sends a signal to the world around you. It also gives your perspective a heaping spoonful of Pop Rocks.

E.g. Trudging to work. We’ve all done it. And we all know it bears the atrocities of routine.

But change the verb and...magic.

If you try gallivanting to work, I bet you'll have a completely different - and probably more rewarding - experience.

I have my issues with Law of Attraction. But there’s no question in my mind that reality is unique to how you see the world.

So if you’ve got a silver lining, glass-is-all-full-not-half-full, grateful-to-enjoy-this-crazy-fascinating-thing-called-Life attitude, you’re more likely to see that reflected in your experience.

Happy-go-lucky is not a character trait. It's a way to live!

And I think much of it is self-induced. As mentioned last week, pranks - the kind where no one gets hurt/all in good fun - can give you that diving board to step into uncommon rewards.

Last week I asked you for your pranking stories. Your replies were unsurprisingly cunning and caring, mischievous and mirthful. Here are three that stood out.

Jessi the Terrible shared this one. It’s accidental but no less impressive.

Jennifer shared this never-goes-out-of-style prank.

And this one, from Heather, demonstrates how a downer type of prank can end up the same way it started.

Thanks to all who participated. May lightness of pranking being pervade your point-of-view and affect the all-around!

##

Curated stories of alterna-thought will return next week, barring natural disaster, gov’t censorship, or a sudden change in editorial direction.

Stay different.
