The power of the Puja (Divine offering) is to bring the soul closer to the Divine by offering our love. The more we can spend time in Divine consciousness the more love peace and joy is brought to the world.
There are many types of Pujas, where just about any aspect of the Divine is worshiped, including the Sun, Moon, Mother Earth, Animals, Plants, Deities etc. Fire puja; yagna, yagam (Tamil), havan or homa uses the element of fire to make offerings to the Divine (that which encompasses all aspects). It is an ancient Vedic fire ceremony performed around the world on the eve of the full or new moon. Puja involves chanting mantras and making offerings into the fire to bring peace and joy to the world. Puja, amongst other things, is a beautiful opportunity to meditate, set a new resolution, offer a prayer for the world, a loved one, for our own healing and to experience our innate divinity. Yagna is considered to be the ultimate sacrifice (or offering) and bestows immense blessings.

Bhakthi - multipurpose medicine
Bhakti yoga is the yogic path of love, surrender and devotion. Of the four main margas or paths of Yoga (Gnana, Raja, Karma and Bhakti), Bhakti is stated to be the path that embodies all four. Through the practice of Bhakti Yoga we naturally experience the wisdom of who we are (Gnana), pranayama and asana are imbibed in chanting, kirtan, pujas and sound yoga (Raja), and as our hearts become full of love we wish to do good deeds and selflessly serve all creations (Karma).
