"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Comedy Crowders,

Today we come bearing fruits from the comedy forest, with the introduction of our sitcom writersroom, some delicious new opportunities, and examples of how experimenting with different formats can be the key to success. Leave the jungle of Monday madness and enjoy these hand picked treats.
We are currently working on the next stage of development for The Comedy Crowd.
If you have programming and website development experience and would be interested in working with us, send us an email with the headline "Developer role" to theccteam@thecomedycrowd.com.
The Sitcom Writersroom
We are excited to announce the launch of the Comedy Crowd Sitcom Writersroom powered by the script editors at Why Did The Chicken.

From today the first 5 applicants can sign up for the 6 week writersroom starting in the first week of September. Click here for more
Here's why we are so excited to be doing this:

We know writing alone is tough, especially getting someone to read your work when it's done. How do you even know if it's actually as good as it was in your head before it went on paper ( / the computer screen)? And what is giving you the encouragement to keep going and actually get it done?

The Comedy Crowd Sitcom Writersroom is here to give you a dedicated mastermind group of fellow writers and a professional script editor. The 6 week experience is all done remotely and works around your schedule, giving you that regular feedback and interaction your sitcom script needs.

And there is a big bonus for being in the first 5 to join the writersroom.

P.S. if your dating ad or Facebook page describes you as more sketch than sitcom, worry not as we'll be introducing a sketch writersroom very soon.

Getting your show noticed
Rachel Jackson has recently been given a BBC3 series for her show Bunny Boiler. In this interview with Why Did The Chicken, Rachel reveals how she did it through persistence, being discovered performing a live show, and making the most of online platforms.
This is a great example of effectively using many different formats to get your ideas in front of an audience, and how getting out there and making it happen can really pay off.

The art of experimenting
This article by Maison Piedfort gives examples of how to use new joke formats on platforms such as Twitter. The jokes will appeal to some and not others, but what is great here is the experimentation, the creative approach to expressing funny phrases and the adaption to using new media formats.
This experimentation with forms is the best way to develop your funny writing and get real feedback on what works. Read the article here.
