Headteacher's message...

Assalaamu alaykum,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, parents and pupils for their contributions to Lady Aisha. Please make dua for us, that the school goes from strength to strength and forgive any of our shortcomings. I hope you all have an enjoyable, restful break and that Allah Swt encompasses us all in His meeenrcy. Ameen.

Sports Day

On Wednesday 12th July, we held our annual sports day in Loxford Park, where our students took part in a football tournament, egg and spoon race, 3 legged race, sack race and a tug of war. Due to the current climate, some of our students had expressed their concerns regarding security in the park and so for extra precaution Mr Aslam and the caretaker were present and patrolling, along with our local police and community support officers. There were also 11 members of staff present throughout the day.

Eid al-Fitr Party 2017
Lady Aisha Academy celebrated Eid al-Fitr together on Thursday 28th June. We had an assembly, a play, quizzes, some nasheeds and of course, a feast. A big thank you to Ms Iman for arranging a wonderful and fun-filled afternoon!
Activity week
Last week was activity week. School days were split into two sessions, where each session comprised of 2 ½ hours. There were a total of 4 activities, with each year group taking it in turns to participate. The activities were:
Dragons Den: Children come up with business ideas in their groups and execute their business plans, eventually pitching their ideas and plans to a panel of judges.
Islamic Art and Calligraphy: Children explore Islamic Art and Calligraphy through creating and designing.
Symbolic Play: Children come up with plays using no words, only actions to represent both ideas and objects.
Masterchef: Children cook, arrange and decorate various meals with a matching concept in mind.
Work Experience
From Monday 3rd July until Friday 14th July, our year 11 students were on a two-week work experience placement where they have experienced what it is like to work in a professional setting. They were placed in various businesses and companies, ranging from nurseries and primary schools where they are working as TAs, engaging with children and supervising them, to placements in libraries and pharmacies entailing tasks such as checking and organising stock, and discharging items. A few of our students worked for small independent companies including sales companies, and thus built their experience in admin work such as filing, emailing, and answering telephone queries from customers.

We will be breaking up for the summer holidays on Thursday 20th July 2017 at 12:00 pm, and school will reopen for the new academic year on Wednesday 6th September 2017. If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. If for any reason, you need to contact the school during the summer holidays, the school office will be open every Tuesday, Wednesdy and Thursday from 10am - 2pm.
