Carrie achieved a distinction in her foundation level Hydrotherm training. She has also completed her Amethyst Trust's Specialist Hydrotherm Tranquil Sea Massage training, which allows her to treat clients that are going through the difficult journey of living with Cancer.
The Amethyst Trust's mission is to enable people who are currently being treated for Cancer, or who have been treated in the past, to enjoy the amazing benefits of massage treatments knowing that their therapist fully understands how to safely treat them.
The client is suspended on two heated, water-filled cushions whilst lying on their back. This comforts and soothes the body, allowing the client to relax immediately. There is no need to turn over at the halfway point of the massage, therefore no pressure is put onto the chest and the neck muscles are fully relaxed.
Quotes from Leading Cancer Organisations
"The Penny Brohn Cancer Care supports massage as a safe and beneficial therapy for those with cancer when practised by a therapist with appropriate experience and/or training.
People with cancer who have had massage said that they found it relaxing and it gave them a sense of relief. Research suggests that it may help to reduce pain, depression and anxiety."
"People worry that having a massage when you have cancer may make the cancer cells travel to other parts of the body. No research has proven this to be true."
