Progress at the American Village Teacher Conferences
View this email in your browser

The American Village hosted two conferences for 100+ teachers from schools in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. At the luncheon programs we had 20 minutes to present a new slide show and handout teachers can use for lesson plans and classroom presentations, plus share why this national history can develop students and the state. Photo by Melanie Poole.

At our expanded web page for Veterans Day History, Character Traits, and National Branding, you can see, print, or download resources to use in class or civic clubs:
  • Handout (1 sheet, 2 pages, PDF): photos, historical highlights...
  • Slide show (PowerPoint): Eisenhower, Weeks, Reagan, Uncle Sam, U.S. Senate Resolution, Character Traits, Assignments and Discussion Topics...

Only four teachers of over 100 knew the national history of Alabama starting the national movement for National Veterans Day when we started. Thanks to The American Village inviting us to present, 100+ more teachers are better prepared to teach this history and character traits: Patriotism, Courage, Perseverance, Loyalty, and Citizenship.

We are following up on requests and recommendations from teachers wanting more on Veterans Day, Freedom of Liberty and Rights, Freedom to Flourish, and Plan for School and Life. Your support or advocacy can help us serve better and expand faster.
