Between 7th and 9th August 2017, and coinciding with London’s hosting of the IAAF World Championships, the UK government will be hosting a programme of presentations and visits on the subject of hosting major events.

The programme will include unique access to London’s former Olympic Stadium and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with presentations from key individuals responsible for delivering long-term benefits from hosting both the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, and the 2017 IPC and IAAF World Athletics Championships.

This is an opportunity facilitated by fellow member London & Partners.

IAEH Case Studies

Good practices in hosting major events
IAEH exists for members to share experiences in hosting major events and to encourage good practices. IAEH is planning to produce some case studies later in the year and completing this short survey will help with the necessary research. Please complete the survey by July 31st.

International Sports Tourism
Your feedback needed

SportBusiness Communications is considering launching Sports Traveller a publication aimed at the growing sports mad tourist who regularly travel around the world to watch events. The publication is planned to be digital only, quarterly and to launch in English initially and the intention is to create a targeted circulation list of 250,000 ABC1 sports fans from around the world. This is a challenging and expensive process so their question to IAEH members is this: ‘If they could create a circulation of relevant and qualified international sports tourists would you support such a publication with advertising whether in the form of display advertising, sponsored content for your event or destination or a competition for tickets and travel which would generate database?’

Please send your feedback to phil.savage@sportbusiness.com or stuart.lewis@sbcmedia.co.uk and you will also secure a preferential first option in Sports Traveller Magazine.
IAEH incorporation
IAEH is still in the process of incorporation
The process of incorporation of IAEH that was expected to be finalised by the end of June got delayed by a few weeks. We will inform the outcome as soon as we get the definitive result of our application. Meanwhile, we maintain the current structure and keep working to connect our members and share knowledge on our priority areas.
