Penicillin injections prevent 21 year old from developing more serious rheumatic heart disease

Ngukurr needle crew: Kids supporting kids
From 2013-2015, there were a group of kids from southern Arnhem Land who referred to themselves as the ‘needle crew’. But much like the Marvel Comics superhero, Black Widow, or the DC Comic book hero, Swamp Thing, their ominous sounding names were not indicative of the good that they brought to the world.

Landmark WHO report on RHD ahead of global discussions
A landmark report on rheumatic heart disease (RHD) – drafted by the World Health Organization (WHO) – has been released to accompany intergovernmental discussions on RHD during the upcoming WHO Executive Board meeting, which takes place in Geneva at the beginning of June.

NSW framework for ARF and RHD released
"It's (acute rheumatic fever/rheumatic heart disease) taken such a toll on my family when it could've been prevented".  This was a statement from a mother in New South Wales (NSW) during one of the four community consultations that helped shape the first ever Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Framework for use in NSW.
