Cloudlands

Back in April on the way to Adirondack, I was able to stop by at the Albany International Airport to see the group exhibition, Cloudlands, where several of my drawings are currently shown. The exhibit is closing at the end of this month. If you’re ever going through Albany, stop by to see the exhibit and see how the airport has dedicated very generous amount of space to the arts. You’ll be rewarded to see so many arts there.
Almost the entire third floor of the airport is dedicated as a gallery space for the Airport Gallery, and there are more gallery spaces inside the concourse called Concourse Galleries. Arts & Culture program at the Albany International Airport has been running curated exhibitions since 1998. Albany International Airport is a small airport, but the galleries are open as long as the airport is open, which means it is open from 6am to 11pm. Each year more than three million people pass through the airport. I saw several travelers with carry-on suitcases spending long time looking at artworks. An Asian mother and a daughter stopped in front of my drawing, carefully examining the details, discussing something, then moving on to the next work.

The works in Cloudlands exhibit shares a sense of air, clouds, and travel in one way or another, but not literally, and I enjoyed the complexity of each artist’s works. I’m very honored to be in a company of these great artists. You can read more and see images from this exhibit on my blog.

The exhibit runs through July 31, 2017. If you’re traveling through the Albany International Airport, be sure to go up to the third floor to see the exhibit.
