Calling all mini-makers!
Kids Club Parents and Friends,
It’s been a great summer at the Alexandria Farmers Market. You and your little shoppers bring so much spunk to our market community; we love seeing you every week! Stay tuned for more free, family-friendly fun in August. In the meantime...
Do you know a child who is a talented maker? We are looking for young gardeners, bakers, or artists who want to strut their stuff at the market!
The Alexandria Farmers Market will host a mini-market on Tuesday, August 8, and we need mini vendors. This opportunity will be a fun and educational wrap-up to the summer.
- Ages 5-14
- Examples of items to sell: home-grown plants/flowers/produce, baked goods, lemonade, jewelry, drawing/paintings, hand-crafted toys, décor, etc.
- All products must be made by the mini-maker.
- An adult must be present with each mini-maker the entire market.
- Each mini-maker (and their guardian) is responsible for their own set-up, including table, tent, cash box, etc.
- Each mini-maker’s booth must be set-up by 2:45pm on market day.
- Expectations of mini-makers:
- Use their minds and hands to make plenty of items to sell.
- Come up with a business name.
- Price their items.
- Set-up (and clean-up) a booth.
- Interact with customers.
- Make a little cash…learn a lot…and have fun!
To apply, email me (atohme@cenla.org), and tell me about your mini-maker: Name? Age? Products to sell? Please include a brief description and a photo or two. (Space is limited; please respond soon.)
Thank you for being a part of our market community. As always, spread the word, and eat local!
See you on Tuesday –
Allison
