God's Word at our fingertips and a front row seat to Bible Translation in 13 countries.

Dear Friend,

Several months have passed since our last newsletter.  We've celebrated birthdays, the boys have finished another year of school and we enjoyed going to the YMCA Camp with our church in Estes Park, Colorado.

Thank you for your loving partnership through prayers, monthly financial commitments and special financial gifts.  We can't be doing what we're doing without you standing beside us - THANK YOU!

God's Word at Our Fingertips

A couple of weeks ago, there was a Polish woman visiting our church.  She doesn't speak much English.  After the singing and announcements, Pastor Roger took his place to begin the message.  David slipped out of our row and went to sit next to the Polish woman.  He used the YouVersion Bible App to find Polish and looked up the Scripture reference so she could read the Bible in her heart language.  He also translated the bulletin into Polish the best he could.

DeAnna sat in our row next to Joshua reflecting on the times when we sat in church services not understanding what was being said and what was going on.  We praise the Lord for Bible translation and for the YouVersion Bible App that makes God's Word accessible in over a thousand languages at our fingertips.

YouVersion is a free Bible for your phone, tablet or computer.  YouVersion is a simple, ad-free Bible where one can choose from more than 1,000 languages available on the app to read God's Word in their own heart language.  David is a volunteer with YouVersion.

Update from DeAnna

DeAnna gets the privilege to get to know individuals and families as she serves new members from their first day in Wycliffe throughout their entire first term.  Those she serves are scattered throughout 13 countries.  Eight are translating the Bible into the language of those they serve.  One is helping with literacy so when there is a written Bible, those that speak the language can read it too.  Five are working to educate children who are in the various countries with their families.  Two are working in administrative roles.  One is working in a health care role and one is working as a recruiter to share with others how they can also serve.

The impact is incredible and DeAnna gets a front row seat - how awesome!

When we were preparing to go overseas the first time, we had some concerns, but we weren't scared or that worried. Even though, we were headed to a country where we didn't speak the language and was completely unknown.
DeAnna gets to watch the excitement of those she serves as they prepare to leave for their assignment.  That excites her, however, she also carries concern for them.  She's more nervous for them as they enter a new life, in a new country, then when we did.

Praises and Prayer Requests

Praise!  Things have calmed down in the NW region of Cameroon, allowing people to return to the area.

Pray that YouVersion users will be connected to God's Word and for David to have wisdom in his answers to users.

Pray for DeAnna to serve well and love all who she is responsible for.

Pray for Joshua and Jonah as they begin a new school year in new school buildings.  Pray that they have great friends who are edifying and that they keep their eyes fixed on God.

"I lift my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth."  - Psalm 121:1-2
