Today's update is brought to you by the letter P: Pignics, Pumpkins, and Procrastination.
We have the last few Pignics of the season happening in September, along with open houses in the Fall. I have been unable to gather information on specific Pignics, but if you visit Pignic Central on Facebook, you should find information on available Pignics and events near you!

For everyone dealing with or recovering from one of the many weather crises rocking the planet right now (my goodness, there's a lot going on out there....), please heed warnings and stay safe! Guinea pigs are very susceptible to respiratory illness, so keep them warm and dry, and away from irritants; if it makes YOU uncomfortable, it makes them uncomfortable.
Stay safe out there!

15th annual Boston Fall Pignic
Next Sunday, 17 September, in Wellesley, MA - the 15th Annual Boston Fall Pignic! Details are on the Facebook event page.
Crafts, Cavies, and Cooking - the CavyMadness blog
Boadicea had been losing weight, so Sally took her to the vet. No piggy likes going to the vet, especially when it's a matter of bladder stones and a yeast infection! Poor Boadi. Read more about butt-squeezes and vet visits on Sally's blog.

Can you believe it's been 15 years since Sally and I started the Boston Pignic? At first, it was a pretty small but passionate group. Over the years, we've welcomed all manner of people new to guinea pigs. I moved to Virginia in 2013, and I have been unable to make it back up to a Pignic in a very long time. I keep thinking "you know, maybe I'll start a Southeast Pignic..."

And I still may! I've been dealing surgeries and job-searching over the last few years, so I haven't really looked for more things to do. A few days ago, I began a job with a wonderful organization, and once I am settled in to my new schedule I shall start thinking about new projects.

Speaking of new projects....

My mother has been cranking out the Cavy Cozies! I just uploaded a bunch of new designs to the Shop, including some bold florals and the start of a BUNCH of winter and Christmas prints! (I don't quite want to think about winter yet either, because I still have tomatoes ripening in the garden!)

DO. NOT. WANT.

Crafts, Cavies, and Cooking: Boadicea at the vet.
Poor Boadicea. She's getting an exam by the vet, and she passed a (thankfully) soft small stone. Sally's blog has many stories of her pigs Boadicea and Wedgwood, including Boadi's current weight loss and urinary woes. Poor Boadi. :( Sally will keep us updated to Boadi's progress!

Meanwhile, over at Out of the Hutch...

Caroline Whittle is working on final touches for her Christmas designs, and she has a beautiful Autumn print for sale at her shop! Caroline's illustrations are whimsical and classic, and really show the personalities of her cavy creations!
