New Forecasted USAID Opportunities


In July 2017, USAID added up to $891 million in new opportunities to the Mission Forecast. Below is a breakdown of the top sectors and countries for these new forecasted opportunities. 
Ethiopia anticipates up to $126 million in Global Health funding. USAID forecasts a $50M - $100M cooperative agreement entitled HIV Key and Priority Populations Activity, which focuses on providing HIV prevention and treatment services and linking with community-and facility-based HIV services across the clinical cascade. USAID also forecasts a $10M - $25M cooperative agreement, Strengthening Quality on Malaria Diagnosis and Treatment in Ethiopia (SQMDTE). Finally, Ethiopia anticipates two $150K - $500K Task Order/Delivery Orders entitled Mulu/MARPS End-line Evaluation and MULU/Worksite (MULU II) End-line Evlauation. 
 
Madagascar is forecasted to receive a $50M - $100M Global Health contract, entitled Total Market Initiative for Health Product Supply in Madagascar (TMI-HPS), which is a full and open competition award for the ISM follow-on. 

Tanzania anticipates a $50M - $100M Global Health cooperative agreement, the Tanzania Malaria Surveillance and Vector Control Project, which aims to strengthen malaria surveillance and improve targeting and tailoring of vector control interventions across transmission zones. 

Peru is forecasted to receive up to $85 million in Environment and Global Climate Change funding. The country anticipates a $10M - $25M contract entitled Promotion of Best Environmental and Social Management Practices. The purpose of this activity is to facilitate multi-stakeholder agreement on Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the four priority sectors (hydro-power, roads, oil and gas, and mining), and then support the promotion, implementation, and monitoring/enforcement of these BMPs. Representation of Indigenous Peoples in Governance of Amazon Forests and Waters, a $10M - $15M contract will support work with the indigenous groups that includes the Private Sector, Governments and the Civil Society (including academia) in raising awareness on indigenous people’s rights and responsibilities, especially of those communities facing proposed development projects. Securing a Sustainable, Legal, Profitable and Inclusive Forest Sector, a $10M - $25M contract focuses on strengthening the forest sector governance of Peru by providing technical support to the appropriate GOP institutions, strengthening coordination through working groups and protocols, and providing tools and technology to engage civil society and affected communities. Finally, SERVIR Amazonia, a $4M - $10M cooperative agreement is a joint initiative of USAID and NASA to help developing countries improve environmental management and resilience to climate change by strengthening the capacity of governments and other key stakeholders to integrate Earth observation information and geospatial technologies into development decision‐making. 

Indonesia anticipates a $10M - $25M Economic Growth and contract, the ASEAN Economic Integration Support Activity, which aims to strengthen institutions to support trade and investment facilitation in goods and services within the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and its trading partners. Indonesia is forecasted to receive a $10M - $25M Democracy, Human Rights and Governance award entitled CVE activity in design. Finally, the country anticipates a a $10M - $25M Global Health award, HEA - TB Private Sector Activity, to improve TB case detection, treatment and cure across Indonesia and reduce the TB burden of disease through partnering with private providers.
