After two months of development, Crystal 0.23.0 was released, quickly followed by a 0.23.1 bugfix version. The major news are that the official packages have been built using LLVM 3.8 instead of the old 3.5 version - but there's so much more to check.Read both 0.23.0 and 0.23.1 changelogs. Then go get it!
Windows support is Crystal's issue #26, and is still open - because there's no Windows support yet. But that doesn't seem to stop long-standing community member @Blaxpirit from developing games for Windows - and showing how to. Mind: blown.
As if maintaining an awesome awesome-crystal list wasn't enough, @veelenga went the extra mile and created Crystal [ANN], a website + Twitter dedicated platform for announcing new Crystal projects. If yours' not listed yet - that's only because you haven't announced it yet!
Amber is a web application framework written in Crystal, inspired by a web of frameworks and other popular application frameworks. It features great documentation and a great core team, and it's waiting for you to try it.
Community member Faustino Aguilar (aka, @totakaro) made a Visual Studio Code extension that provides Crystal syntax highlighting, formatting, problems finder, methods completion, you name it. Go grab it, or check out its repo on Github.
