The community hub improving local residents' quality of life in All Saints, Wolverhampton
The community hub improving local residents' quality of life in All Saints, Wolverhampton

ASAN is a well-established multi-use community hub in All Saints, Wolverhampton. ASAN grew out of local residents determination to regenerate the neighbourhood, as this area of Wolverhampton is one of the 5% most deprived parts of the country. Residents have shown resilience over the years, campaigning for employment opportunities in their local area, especially following the closure of the local Royal Hospital.

ASAN currently boasts workspace, hireable community space, a memorial garden with gardening groups maintaining it, a nursery, a tool library and a recycling service. But its
latest project, which is backed by a Power to Change grant of £206,221 will establish a wood recycling service called ‘Wood Saints’, which will put an industrial unit to good use. Wood Saints will collect wood from the construction industry and other sites, then either sell on to create saleable items such as furniture and other wood products. Wood Saints, will provide local community, environmental benefit, volunteering apprenticeships training and employment and sustainability.
