God is still working!

God has been and is still working in the Ford family. We landed in the U.S. a little over a year ago with two goals in mind: to adopt a child and to raise our budget to return to the field and our new assignment in Spain. For the first six months of itineration we had a hard time gaining traction raising our budget or with the adoption. About the time we began to question our goals, God began to move. It started with a fake ice storm that kept us in Oklahoma rather than being at services in Ohio. Little did we know, God was about to rock our world, and it all began that week we were supposed to be in Ohio.

We were frustrated, especially with having to re-book all our flights for a later date, losing money on change fees, and with not having services that Sunday in January. When we are frustrated, what do we do? We go to Starbucks, of course, to vent, share, and pray with a friend. Well, that is at least where Karla found herself. Little did she know that she was right where God wanted her, and that there was someone else there sharing her heart about a situation she and her family found themselves in with a mutual friend. One frustrated and one very prayerful, God answered both their needs and desires at once.

That meeting at Starbucks led to the fulfillment of the desires of our heart, and ended with two wonderful toddlers joining our family and our home on August 2nd, 2017.
The kids?
God has performed miracle after miracle in our adoption process. Less than seven months passed from that beginning in Starbucks to Gotcha day in August. He blessed us with not one, but two toddlers.

We received their new birth certificates on August 3rd, and applied for their social security cards. We should receive them this week, just in time to travel to Dallas to apply for their passports on August 18th. Please pray with us for favor, and quick turnaround. As soon as we have them in hand, we will begin the process of applying for our Spanish visas.
In Finances?
At the beginning of August our budget was recalculated to include the kids. Currently, we are at 94% of our cash budget and 88% of our monthly support. We only need $2548.24 in cash, and about 25 $50 pledges to be at full budget. (Praise the Lord!)

Where do we want to be? 
We want to be with YOU!  We are now scheduling services for this fall, and have several dates open. We would love to share what is happening at IMM and how we are reaching the unreached across the M'slim world. If you can have us for a service, the following dates are available:

In Prayer?                   
We have two major prayer needs in which we would love your support:

• We need finances, both monthly support as well as the remainder of our cash budget. 
• We need favor with our document processes as we prepare to leave for Spain.
• We are parents! Please pray for our little ones health; as well as for the wisdom and patience needed for Karla & I to raise these two kids with a godly example.
