Quote of the Month
"I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
Michael Jordan

Looking For An Advantage In Winning A Grant?
1. Develop a relationship with your grantmaker - More than 60% of grant winners cultivating a relationship with their funders secured the money.
2. Complete everything in the application.
3. Provide supporting relevant documentation - ie. Your strategic plan highlighted to direct attention to pertinent information, the true cost of donated materials and volunteer labour, plus project milestones.
4. Present the grant application in the way you have been asked - Obtain the quotes and list the cost of specific items.
5. Look at the Acquittal – Once your grant is approved it is important to look at the acquittal first. What do you have to plan to do to meet the grant requirements? Provide monthly project updates to retain the relationship you have fostered.
A well prepared application = a well prepared project.
Consider what your organisation needs rather than what your organisation wants.

What Are You Marketing?
Consider setting any one (or more) of these goals in selling your organisation.
1. Awareness: How many people do you want to educate about your cause?
2. Donors: How many donors are you looking to get overall? How many new donors are you looking to attract?
3. Financial: How much do you want to raise?
4. Fundraiser: How many individuals are you looking to have raise funds for your cause?
5. Impact: How much impact do you want to see from the funds raised? How much money does it take to create this impact?
6. Partner: How many partnerships are you looking to build?
7. Pledges: How many people are do you want to pledge a commitment to the cause?
8. Reach: How many impressions do you want your campaign to get on social media?
9. Volunteers: How many people do you want to commit as volunteers?
Perhaps not every one of these goals will apply, however it is still important to take some time and assess which goals you want to set and then build your marketing plan to meet those goals. For more Information.
