Celebration Worship & Picnic
Holy Cross Celebration Sunday will be held Sunday, August 20,
with ONE combined worship service at 10:00a.m. and
an old fashioned "Community Picnic" (= a Church Picnic for the whole community!)
with food provided by our Youth Groups and fun and games for the whole family.
Bring a dessert to share.
Church members, friends, school families, and the community are invited to celebrate with us! Door prizes will be held and lots of give-aways! It’s the official kick-off of the School Year & the Fall2017 FaTHoM Discipleship/Christian Education program. Let’s celebrate together!
No other worship services held that weekend.
NEW FaTHoM Studies Coming in August
Sundays 9:45a.m. - starting August 27
- A Man Named Martin led by Pastor Sattler in the Great Room. Encounter the 15th-century reformer from Germany, Martin Luther, who sparked the Protestant Reformation. Great study to commemorate a special 500th anniversary! signup
- The Book of Exodus led by Pastor McClean in Room 133. The Israelites' exodus from Egypt is the key saving event of the Old Testament. Learn how this book points us to the key saving event of the New Testament. signup
- 5 Things You Can Do led by Scott Jung. What can you do to improve your life at home? These short book studies will help! signup
Have a Stronger Family (begins August 27) and Make Your Marriage Stronger (begins October 8).
Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. - Starting August 23
- Christianity 101 New Member Series, led by Pastor Sattler. Get an overview of what Christians believe and why. Great for the curious, those interested in membership, or a review for members. Then check out Bible 101 or values 101 in the spring! signup
- Esther led by Michelle Searcy in Room 109. Esther, while a queen, lived as an outsider in a hostile environment. Women will learn strong lessons of faith, providence, and hope to equip them to live courageously "for such a time as this." signup
- Counter Culture led by Scott Jung. The truth of the gospel should compel us to a contrite, compassionate, and courageous response to social issues in the culture. This study will challenge us to do just that! signup

New Children's FaTHoM on Wednesdays
For the fall semester of FaTHoM, we want to add some energy to our Wednesday Children's Ministry. We will be following a fun, twelve-week study on BUGS and what they can teach us about the Christian life. Each night will include an opening, food and memory work, and then three rotation sites (lesson, crafts, and activity). We are looking for the following volunteers to help out on Wednesday nights (6:00-7:30 PM):
Opening Leaders: Can you help with music or a weekly skit? This would be the place for you!
Guides: Lead a group of children from site to site, and participate with your group. No advanced preparation necessary!
Lesson Leaders: Present a Bible passage and key verse for the night to the groups, and facilitate discussion. Curriculum is provided.
Craft Leaders: Lead the groups in a craft ralated to the lesson. Craft suggestions are provided.
Activity Leaders: Lead the groups in a fun game or activity related to the lesson. Game suggestions are provided.
