HELLO!

I spend about 6-8 weeks with each piece that I make from starting with a lump or two of clay to the finished piece.

I recorded the process from the time that I finished building this shape to the final result and here is a little gif representing work over the space of about 4 weeks.

Read about my creative process here.
NEW WORK

I collect antique stoneware ginger jars from the early trading days around the Cape of Good Hope, which can still occasionally be found in old dumping sites. Recently I made some pieces inspired by these elegant shapes, ranging from very small pieces measuring about 13cm high to the stripy beauty below.

MASTER CLASS

Have you always wanted to explore working with clay? You can sign up for a tailor-made master class with me next time you are in Cape Town and you do not really feel like paragliding down our mountains or going for a helicopter flip. It is a very flexible arrangement, tailor-made to your specific interests and available time, and I will send your creations to your home address once they are fired. Added bonus: 20% discount on anything at my studio on the day!

EAT YOUR WORDS

Finally! EAT YOUR WORDS The Bookclub Cookbook has landed in Cape Town and will be available for sale from the end of July. It is an incredibly user-friendly collection of recipes to make any meal you may host the occasion of the year. Mouthwatering recipes, fabulous photography and beautiful design: I am very proud of this project. Available at all good book stores and my studio.
