The Union Area Transportation Study will have a public workshop at the Sheraton Hotel, 360 Union Blvd. This is an opportunity to see updated project information and give comments on proposed transportation improvements in the corridor. MuralFest

Join us for the third annual West Colfax MuralFest. This is a vibrant arts festival held in the 40 West Arts District, designed to celebrate the creativity and character of historic West Colfax. Event will take place at Lamar Station Plaza, home to Casa Bonita. The free festival is a celebration of art and community -- come see live murals being painted, live music, vendors, food and more. Annual Car No. 25 Open House

Come see and ride the beautifully restored Car No. 25 in person during this annual free open house. Car No. 25 provided passenger service on the Denver & Intermountain Interurban's 13-mile Denver-Lakewood-Golden line from 1911 to 1950. Besides free rides (weather permitting), the open house will feature historic photos and oral histories from original riders of the car who have contributed to its restoration. The open house is 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the Federal Center. Enter through Gate 1. Details at Lakewood.org/HistoricTransit.

Recent Economic Trends from the Kansas City Fed

Colorado has experienced some of the strongest economic growth during the recovery in the United States. Employment levels in Colorado have outpaced much of the nation, with employment growth averaging 2.1% annually since 2010. The strongest employment growth has been in healthcare, education services, leisure and hospitality, professional and business services and state government sectors.  Real estate and tourism have also contributed to Colorado's economic growth. However, the agriculture and energy sectors have struggled in the last few years. Access update here
