Our health is inextricably tied to where we live. Having access to safe, stable, and affordable homes – particularly in communities with transportation options, parks, and healthy food – can lead to better physical and mental health and improve overall quality of life for Arizonans.
Earlier this month, our friends at the Arizona Partnership for Healthy Communities released their first paper in their "Place Matters" series to show how factors outside of health care impact health.
“Place Matters: The Intersection of Housing and Health" identifies successful evidence-based practices for improving health outcomes and demonstrates how investing in healthy communities work can result in cost savings. They also offered a set of solutions for improving health by investing in housing.
