UXPA Stands with Puerto Rico

Most of you know that our UXPA 2018 International Conference is slated to take place in June 2018 in Puerto Rico – which was directly hit by Hurricane Maria. We've been in contact with the conference hotel almost daily and the good news is, slowly but surely, the hotel – and the entire island – are rebuilding and recovering.

WUD 2017 Chapter Microgrants

Apply for your grant today

World Usability Day (WUD) is Thursday, November 9 with the 2017 theme of "Inclusion through UX”. An estimated 3-4 UXPA chapters can receive a microgrant of up to $200-300 US to reimburse for program expenses related to WUD 2017. Chapters established in the past 3 years will receive priory in the application process. Every chapter submitting a proposal will be considered.

In approximately 500 words, each proposal must detail: event goal(s), audience(s), intended grant use, and expected benefit(s). All proposals must be sent to brian.mills@uxpa.org by 12:01 AM EST on Monday, October 23 and only one proposal can be submitted per each chapter.

4-Week Short Courses

Educational, timely, and relevant

Foster continued education among new and experienced UX practitioners. Courses will be presented live via gotowebinar, and recordings will be available to students immediately following each class. Courses will be instructor-led and will be interactive each lasting 4 weeks with a 90 minute session each week.

It is vitally important to coordinate resources, information sharing, and two-way communication between medical incident commanders (ICs) and first medical responders (paramedics) at mass casualty incidents (MCI) sites. Information at the time of disasters also needs to be effectively analyzed and presented through intelligent user interfaces. Such interfaces need to be easy-to-use by ICs to foster critical decisions that can potentially reduce mortality rates. In this paper, we present Panacea’s Cloud™—a next-generation multiple casualty management system.

The Bangladesh chapter of the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA BD) is a community of user experience professionals in Bangladesh. The main purpose of UXPA BD is to promote and protect the interests of user experience designers, engineers, and researchers by building awareness about the importance of user-centered design practices.
