AUGUST 2017

With the sun rising a little later and evenings feeling cooler , I can't help but be aware that our summer days are numbered. To make sure I'm entering fall feeling rested and refreshed, I'm taking conscious steps this month to exercise my personal choice and mindfully do a little less to feel a little more.

Enjoy.

FALLING FOR FALL: WARDROBE TIPS

A few of my clothing tips and reminders as we transition our closets from summer to fall:

Review and Repair
Before boxing up my sandals and summer dresses, I look over the pieces for wear and tear. Make sure items are clean and in good condition before storing them away for the next 6 months. Got soles worth saving? Take them to your
neighbourhood cobbler so that they are fresh for use next year.

Organize
For added ease getting dressed this autumn, I like to move or pack up season specific clothing so they are out of my daily line of sight.

Display
To encourage wear, I like to display my fall garments, accessories and footwear so they are easy to view and access. By flipping the hangers on items after each wear, I discover in a few weeks what items I've fallen out of love with or need to rotate into daily wear.

Hit Refresh
The last few gloriously warm months have us out of touch with layers. To get inspired for the season, I like to refresh my eyes for fall style with Pinterest.

Make a List
Changing seasons always
brings
on the sales but before I hit the stores, I make a list and filter with the following:

  • Set a budget

  • Weight want vs need

  • Consider the source. Can I find this secondhand, locally made or ethically manufactured?

  • Will I get #30wears?
