What's new at BigML?

The third edition of our Valencian Summer School in Machine Learning is right around the corner! You won’t want to miss this opportunity for a practical, hands-on introduction to Machine Learning in the beautiful city of Valencia, Spain. This event will be held on September 14-15, and we have upgraded to a larger venue this year in anticipation of record demand. We have room for over 200 attendees and 30 countries are represented so far!

Another tool has been added to your BigML repertoire! Time Series, the latest BigML resource was released on July 20. It can be used to analyze time-based data when historical patterns can explain future behavior. Time Series is commonly used for predicting sales, stock prices, website traffic, weather forecasts, production and inventory analysis, and many other use cases. Time Series is available from the BigML Dashboard, the API, and WhizzML for its automation. Watch the webinar video and check out the dedicated release page to learn more.

In addition to Time Series, we brought three new capabilities to the BigML Dashboard. BigML now provides a visual way to compare multiple evaluations of your supervised learning models, making it easier to decide which one performs better. A new Dashboard visualization of evaluation curves for classification models was added, which includes new performance metrics to assess your classification models. Finally, BigML added resource configuration information to make it simpler and faster for you to find the right resources at a glance among many that belong to the same project. PAPIs 4th International Conference on Predictive Applications and APIs will be held October 23-25 in Boston, MA. PAPIs brings together practitioners from industry, government and academia to present new developments, identify needs and trends, and discuss the challenges of building real-world predictive applications. The event will include tutorial workshops, networking and talks with Machine Learning experts (including Dr. Charles Parker from BigML) and the AI Startup Battle (powered by PreSeries).
