Thunderbirds Skills & Goalie Camps - August

The Seattle Thunderbirds will be hosting a Skills Camp focusing on the areas of shooting, scoring and power skating. These 3 essential parts of every players game will be honed and developed by current and past T-Birds coaches and players. Dates are either August 7-11 or 14-18, or a goalie session August 14-18.

This year’s staff will be working with all age groups 1.5 hours per day, teaching and improving the skills of everyone in attendance throughout the week.

All sessions for the 2017 Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey Camp will take place at the ShoWare Center, home of the Seattle Thunderbirds. Participants will utilize the Thunderbirds locker room and WHL dressing rooms throughout the camp.  This year the Seattle Thunderbirds have added an extensive goalie development program to their summer hockey camp. Goalies will be maxed out at 4 per age group, this will ensure each goalie that attends will receive in depth instruction and the coaches will be able to provide one-on-one instruction with each goalie in a camp like setting. Goalies will receive 30 minutes of goalie specific training that relates to edge work, rebound control, puck tracking, and positioning. The other benefit of this small group is each goalie will see a lot of shots since they will be intertwined with the player camp of their age bracket.

There will also be a goalie specific camp August 14th-18th that will have drills focused on the development of a goalie’s angles, skating and save selection.
