Peter Van Zant: Be Skeptical of NID Scare Tactics

NID Faces Mounting Public Opposition

"NID still hasn’t dropped its ill-conceived plan to build Centennial Dam on the Bear River. They have yet to demonstrate the need for the project or explained how they plan to pay for the dam’s construction. And there is no assurance that the ratepayers won’t get stuck with the $1 billion tab either."

Centennial Dam is the Elephant in the Room

"NID announced its plans to build Centennial over a year ago and has been moving forward with those plans ever since. However, opportunities to provide public input are severely limited, primarily to comments at board meetings and to comments in the federal and state environmental review processes. On a project of this size, the public must be allowed more opportunity to participate. The public has made significant efforts to become involved . . . NID remains unmoved."

Dam Watchdogs March in Opposition to Centennial

Thank you to the Dam Watchdogs who organized to march in the Grass Valley 4th of July Parade. We made a big splash marching in opposition to Centennial Dam and in defense of the Bear River with our colorful signs, bear float, and banners. We even took 3rd place in the parade!
