This past month I was fortunate to cross another adventure off my bucket list! I hiked the iconic trail from Aspen to Crested Butte. This hike is highly recommended to seasoned hikers who are looking for a challenge that is rewarded with exceptional scenery. You can read more about my amazing adventure below and on my blog.

My Dream Hike:  Aspen To Crested Butte

After many years of dreaming about hiking the iconic trail from Aspen to Crested Butte, it finally became a reality! And it was even better than I ever imagined! The views of Maroon Bells at the beginning of our hike was stunningly gorgeous and started our amazing journey on a high note!  The hike was fun yet a bit challenging at 11 miles with 3500 ft of elevation gain. We were mesmerized by the sheer beauty and happily enjoyed hiking over snow fields, thru creeks and millions of colorful wildflowers.

Quick Tips: Sleep Better on Overnight Flights

If you want to arrive in at a distant destination, well rested you’ll need to figure out how to get some serious ZZZZ's on overnight flights.  Here are some quick tips to help you sleep better on the plane:

  1. Wear comfortable layered clothes so you can adjust your temperature easily. Pack an extra pair of socks in your carry-on to keep your feet snuggly warm.
  2. Make sure your carry-on bag isn't cramping your already limited leg room. Use the overhead compartment rather than putting your bag under the seat in front of you.
  3. Use a sleep mask to block out light and sleep phones (headphones tucked into a headband that sit flat on the outside of your ears) to block out any noise. 
  4. Avoid screen time before sleeping and be sure to turn off the seatback screen. 
"We had a lovely time at the Mauna Lani on the Big Island.  The "Blue Book" review in which they said they "drooled" over it was accurate.  The fish ponds are especially pretty, and it's nice to be on a white sand beach.  The staff there fall over backward to make sure you're enjoying yourself.  We went to the summit of Mauna Kea and to Volcanoes National Park to take a hike.  We really enjoyed ourselves, and thank you for your help!"  - I.L
