Sue's News

The latest from Sue Chastain

Well, hello there! Another month has flown right by and that means it's time for another coloring page. Get Peace and Love for your August freebie. You'll also find an unexpected great deal on a couple of my books.

Scripture Art Inpsiration

So if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you've probably noticed I make a lot of these Bible verse images that I call Scripture Art. I was thinking of starting to post them on suziqcreations.com. What do you think? If that's something you'd like to see, drop me a line and let me know. Here are a couple of recent ones.

This is something I always need to remind myself of!

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. (ESV)

Colossians 1:16-17
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.  And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (ESV)

Just let that sink in a while!

Surprise Sale on OrnaMENTALS

Amazon has two of my books marked down to only $5.12. This is an Amazon sale, so I have no way of knowing how long it will last. It's a great opportunity to pick up extra copies for gifts--or for yourself if you don't have them yet!

August Freebie: Peace and Love
An here is your August freebie, Peace and Love, inspired by the Peace Lily plant that I brought home from Mom's memorial service. Thanks to David for coloring it so beautifully with Inktense pencils and a water brush.

Until Next Time...

I had a lot of fun coloring yesterday with a local friend and her daughter who is home from college. That's my picture on the top--this months freebie--colored mostly with Tombow brush markers, PaperMate Flair pens, and a few other assorted markers and gel pens. Check out the Tombow tip I shared in Color Create Inspire for a neat technique using the blender (in the comments).

On the second row, you can see how Alex colored the beautiful poppies and dragonflies picture by Robin Maria Pedrero from the Adult Coloring Book Treasury 2. Alex used Sharpie and Bic Permanent Markers, and I absolutely love how she went all out with colors on this picture. Don't you just love the gold-tinged, pink clouds and that amazing gradient sky?

Sandra chose Mr. Argyle Owl (now dubbed "Argie") from MiniMENTALS On-the-Go coloring book to color. Sandra claims to have not worked with markers very much but you wouldn't know it from the way she colored this. I love how Argie has an almost iridescent glow. Sandra used Bic markers and also enjoyed creating texture and accents with a Uniball Signo white gel pen. Bravo!

I'll be posting these in Color, Create, Inspire later today so you can see them bigger. Don't forget to come on by to share the coloring or other projects you're working on.

Blessings,

  -Sue
