"GO GET 'EM, DR. MASSON"

What did you do on your last vacation? We bet it wasn't anything like this! But first, a little history lesson.

We were there when Growing Bolder Medical Director Dr. Robert Masson made his debut on the IMSA circuit earlier this year at Sebring International Raceway.

Dr. Masson, one of the world’s top spine surgeons, loves to challenge himself and became interested in racing when his teenage son, Kyle, expressed an interest in the sport. In just his second season racing prototypes, Kyle has become one of the hottest drivers in the world, winning an incredible 8 out of 9 races this season.

Robert, racing in the same MPC class as Kyle, has improved weekly and 9 races into the 13-race season has moved into the lead overall lead in the Master Division.

This weekend both Robert and Kyle will be racing on the 10-turn street circuit located at Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. When we produced our first story on Robert and Kyle, we called it “the biggest story in motorsports.”

We’re no longer alone in that assessment. Dr. Masson (in the #11 car in this video) shares his thoughts on his racing adventures with Kyle (Car #18) and where he goes from here.

And you may notice that Dr. Masson has a special message on his helmet: Show Up Strong. Learn more about this mantra here, and why it's such an important part of his personal and professional lives.
“It's no secret that I have survived cancer two times already and I'm working on number 3. That's why I love hosting this show and telling these stories. I know first-hand how powerful and motivating it can be to learn about other survivors, and the incredible challenges they've overcome. On this show, we tell all kinds of really interesting stories, shining a spotlight on people who've survived diseases, setbacks, and personal tragedies like death or divorce. The unifying message is that hope is always attainable. It's a message none of us can ever hear too much." --Wendy Chioji

This weekend, join Surviving & Thriving host Wendy Chioji as well as Growing Bolder's Marc Middleton, Bill Shafer and WESH 2's Jim Payne for real stories of hope, inspiration and possibility. The show airs live on Saturday, August 12th at 7:00 p.m. on WESH 2 in Orlando. Then, watch online early next week, no matter where you live!
Here's a preview of some of the stories we're sharing:
John Seevers was born with birth defects in both legs. A series of surgeries led doctors to perform a double rotation — turning his feet backwards. It's such an unusual and debilitating disability that most people would have surrendered to a life on the sidelines. Instead, this man has plunged headfirst into life and into the record books as a champion masters swimmer.
Now in her late 80s, Ann Kahl is more enthusiastic about the future than ever because as she says, she has the greatest insurance program available -- a pair of running shoes and a whole lot of friends. She's also a winner of the Growing Bolder Inspiration Award, and many call her the "pied piper of fitness" because she's inspired so many people to get off the couch and start moving.
Jerry and Jan Klein have decided to will their bodies to the UCF College of Medicine so that after they die, the medical school may use their remains to help students and others learn to become future healers. Plus, the Kleins say they feel this is part of their Growing Bolder journey: a final act of compassion and a living legacy that will help save other lives for years to come.
One of the nation’s first facilities offering wellness, medical and fitness programs and services — all under one roof — is coming soon to Winter Park, Florida. Growing Bolder is a proud partner in the Center for Health and Wellbeing project, which is headed up by the Winter Park Health Foundation, and we're bringing you an exclusive sneak peek!

Bubba Thompson, Chris “Booger” Brown and Cody Harris are longtime friends who are working to build a cattle business in Alabama. The work is hard, they all have obstacles to overcome but at the end of the day, these men and their families live by a code that is as important today as it was to the cowboys who first tamed the West.

And we see it all play out on INSP’s new series The Cowboy Way: Alabama, premiering TONIGHT at 8pm eastern. We spoke with the owners of Faith Cattle Company to learn more.
