Summerfest grounds
Hello!

It's been a busy summer gearing up for the new season of the Wisconsin Life TV show (mark your calendars for October 5th) with our new host, Angela Fitzgerald. As you can see in the above photo, taken at American Players Theatre in Spring Green, she's really jumped - ruff first - into her new gig.

Of course, we've also been busy recording and sharing stories on the radio as well. We kicked up our heels and tried our official state dance at Pulaski Polka Days; explored the community that forms around a city pool in Eau Claire (this one's especially refreshing on a hot day); and heard a World War I veteran recall his time working with horses on the battlefield (check out the whole series on Wisconsin in World War I). We have more great things in store in the weeks ahead, including the memories of a Black Earth woman who found fame as a pin-up model and dancer in the 1950s.

Thanks for reading, and get in touch anytime!

Chocolatier Vata Edari
From Criminal Defense Lawyer to Chocolatier

Vata Edari always loved chocolate. And reading about chocolate and experimenting with it became a refuge for her from her work as a successful criminal defense attorney. School bus deer stand
Springbrook Man Has A Unique Idea For A Deer Stand

Every family has that one person. The one most likely to end a conversation with “Watch this!” Jesse Kauffman realizes he’s that person in his family.

Jesse wanted a way to see over the brush on his family farm while deer hunting. The answer? Convert an old school bus into a deer stand. Watch the story here

Links We Love
We're always coming across interesting stories and projects from around the state that we love to share with you.
  • It's all Eau Claire, all the time it seems. The city has been making headlines around the country for it's cool factor. Our friends at Volume One have been reflecting on what all this attention means.
  • Where does the north begin? Wausau? Highway 10? Chippewa Falls? The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel recently asked this question and got a range of responses. This story reminded us of another favorite from Vox about which states are in the Midwest.
  • Roy Rogers was there. So were the stars of "The Beverly Hillbillies." It's Wisconsin State Fair time and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel recently looked at the TV stars that used to perform at the fair in the 1950s and 1960s.
  • Did you know Wisconsin is home to the largest goat cheese factory in the country? We didn't either, but thanks to Edible Madison, we do now! It's in Belmont.
Something About A Flower

The latest story in our original comic series about a multi-generational family from creator Rodney Lambright II. Catch up on the story here.
