NEW is entering the 2017 fiscal year with a fresh strategic plan, created through the hard work of our staff, board, community and the guidance of Stephanie Freeth at Adaptive Alternatives. There will be more to come about the pillars and objectives that will inform NEW’s work moving forward, but We are excited to share with you our updated mission, vision, and values today!

Nonprofit Start Up Series | Fall 2017 | Detroit

Starting a nonprofit organization? Join the NEW team of consultants for the Fall Nonprofit Start Up Series, a four session workshop series that will help you navigate the process of starting a nonprofit organization. You'll learn the basics of starting a nonprofit, how to develop your first board, how to fundraise, and the challenging financial aspects of a new organization. Along with this, this series is an incredible opportunity to meet and engage with other start up individuals!

 Creating Sustainable Funding for a Nonprofit 

Join us for a fast-paced session presented by our partners at Benevon! In this workshop, you'll see a systematic model for building sustainable funding for your mission and learn how to leave a legacy of passionate lifelong individual donors as you tailor the Benevon Model to your organization. Participants are encouraged to bring other staff, board, and volunteers to engage them in this practical and effective approach.

In this Session, you will learn:

  • An overview of the Benevon Model, an organic system for building sustainable funding for the mission of your organization from multiple-year individual donors
  • How to implement mission-focused, permission-based fundraising
  • How to make your organization more visible in your community
  • How to identify and personally cultivate individual donors who are passionate about your mission

MNA is excited to announce  the Talent Strategy Summit. Hear from keynote speaker Vu Le, Executive Director of Rainier Valley Corps and author of the blog Nonprofit with Balls (now called Nonprofit AF). Known for his irreverent sense of humor and love of unicorns, Vu will discuss nonprofit challenges in recruiting, retaining, and promoting, especially when it comes to people from diverse communities. 

Attendees can expect to be a part of high level talent strategy discussions as well as immediate practical leadership development. Whether you’re an experienced nonprofit leader, or an aspiring one, the Talent Strategy Summit will connect you with ideas and people to help strengthen your nonprofit.
